Shatter the Sheen.

lying pic
‘Tis a troublesome thing, perfecting thoughts.
Ideas shifting shape with diabolic force
wafting into forms grey and blurred,
whilst on a knife-edged cross teeter swearing words.
Sharpened tongues sculpt what’s heard.
Do you hear those mouths full of tomorrows?
Can you swim in the twisted phrases that reflect your world?
Have you antidotes for lies when they unfurl?

If someone can, then anyone can – splinter swindler’s schemes.
He can, she can; we all can shake off those veils unseen.
Mothers and brothers, ear stuffed and eyeless can wipe their stained slates clean;
lovers must uncover their lies to each other to consummate their dreams.

Scrape the silence from nature’s cave, embroider nights with authenticity,
bathe your spirit in upright waves, seed the world with sincerity.

Easy to fool, to cover, disguise,
even poets may reveal verities with lies
so best not to judge man from words he spoke
but listen for distortion, lying deep and remote.
Beware those who declare they don’t give an ‘eff’
they’ll remove it from life, and hide what’s left.

Dawn’s untruth cannot be unsaid
and can travel the world while maxim’s abed.
The lie, groomed and lustrous, at its polished best,
yet honesty, naked, is far better dressed
before you; and before life, fact must be heard,
so heed this message – notwithstanding the hurt…
for truths are like swords that cleave flesh right through;
whereas lies will turn tail and tell tales on you.
